Frequently asked questions

What are the hours of operation?

Margaret Cribb Early Learning operates from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. The centre is closed for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period and for all public holidays.

What are your fees?

Playroom 1 – Pre-Kindergarten : $120 per day (uncatered) or $128 per day (catered)

Kindergarten: $117 per day (uncatered) or $125 per day (catered)

Is there an enrolment fee?

There is no enrolment fee. Upon accepting an enrolment at the centre, families are required to pay two weeks’ fees in advance (as per the number of days enrolled) to secure their position.

Will I receive any discount from the government?

Child Care Subsidy may be available for eligible families. Please contact the Department of Human Services for more details and to apply.

How long will I be on the Waiting List for?

It is impossible for us to give you an accurate time frame for how long the waiting period will be. We may be able to give you an estimation based on the number of families before you, but due to the unpredictability of many factors surrounding enrolments, we can’t guarantee anything until you are sent an official Offer of Enrolment. Due to the changing staff to child ratios some age groups are much easier to place, so please contact our office for more information.

When will I know if I’ve received an enrolment?

We endeavour to give you at least 30 days’ notice before your starting date at the centre. Sometimes we can give you more notice and occasionally we have positions available to be filled immediately. Once you have been offered a position a starting date can be negotiated, and a position can be held for up to 4 weeks.

Does my child need to be immunised to attend?

It is a policy of Margaret Cribb Early Learning that enrolments will only be accepted if the child is fully immunised, on a catch‐up immunisation schedule or if they have a medical contraindication or natural immunity (which is certified by a General Practitioner). On enrolment, parents must provide an immunisation history statement showing that their child’s immunisation status is up to date before the service is able to accept the enrolment.

Do I need to provide food and nappies?

Nutritional meals can be provided at an additional cost. Families are required to provide nappies.
